Hocus Pocus in Focus by Aaron Wallace5/13/2023 Hocus Pocus is an evergreen title that can almost always be found on store shelves during the fall season. You need to only purchase three things, the rest can be found for free online! Anything older than a few years (that isn’t a box-office-record-breaking animated hit) gets shelved and given a second-class treatment.Īnd so, seeing as Disney won’t bother to do so, I’ve decided to share a very easy, step-by-step guide on creating your very own “Special Edition” Blu-Ray for the 1993 classic Hocus Pocus. They are the consumer base that Disney would want to aim this nostalgia-driven type of Special Edition to, but Disney instead would rather focus on the now, as they always have. Movies like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Hocus Pocus have a built-in audience of adult consumers who are able to vote with their wallets now when compared to twenty years ago. While Disney doesn’t mind giving some level of star treatment to A-list pictures like Mary Poppins, they’ve summarily ignored cult classics that fans would willingly purchase a spruced-up, extras-filled edition. I’ve long championed for Disney (well, every studio, but Disney in particular) to licence their films to Criterion in order for them to create or collect supplements for movies that Disney themselves won’t bother touching with the Special Edition label.

Shades of magic trilogy5/13/2023 There is something in each of the characters we can connect with: Holland’s resilience, Kell’s discipline, Rhy’s unflinching love, and Lila’s adaptability. I enjoyed this series immensely, and I hope to see more of the Londons and worlds in the future. Every character has meaning, and every scene has a purpose. As with Schwab’s other books, the Shades of Magic series is thoughtful, well-written, and without superfluous stuff. You see romantic love, familial love, love of country, love of self, and love of faith. Love is the strongest of all, and each character wrestles with it in some way. We see several themes in this book: duty, honor, faith, and love. Now, the Antari and the unassuming, non-magical thief from non-magical Grey London must work together to protect Red, White, and Grey London from being consumed by the magic which gave Black London its name. Those wrong hands may belong to Lila Bard, who pickpockets Kell’s magical coat while in Grey London. But, when a magical remnant of the long-fallen Black London finds its way beyond the doors sealing Black London off from the other three, Kell must ensure this remnant doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. Kell, one of the last Antari, travels between three Londons: Grey, Red, and White. In this series, we meet an incredible cast of characters: Kell, Lila, Rhy, and Holland, and several additional essential players. Schwab kick, I recently completed the Shades of Magic trilogy: A Darker Shade of Magic, A Gathering of Shadows, and A Conjuring of Light.

Peaches for monsieur le curé5/13/2023 The writing is seductive and engaging throughout and the magic, too, is intrinsic without ever being soppy or embarrassing. Every page of the book is steeped in scents, colours and tastes, without ever tipping into the pretentious or showy. The hating game description5/13/2023 I loved their office banter and the intense attraction between them that they both ignore. They are both in competition with each other and it is their office antics that are a major source of entertainment. He is brooding, brutally frank, no-nonsense and definitely not as accommodating as Lucy. Josh is her nemesis in office and her complete opposite in everything. She is hardworking, a rule follower and over-the-top accommodating to everyone in the office. A fun and breezy enemies-to-lovers office romance with plenty of humour and delicious chemistry between the protagonists, I absolutely adored reading this sexy love story. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne is her debut book. |
